Projector screen buying guide
The right projector screen depends on your room, how the screen will be used and how much ambient light there is. Here is a quick overview of the screen types we offer.
Types of projector screens
- Motorized projector screens: electric, remote-controlled screens that roll down when needed, popular for home theatres, conference rooms and classrooms.
- Fixed frame projector screens: a flat, tensioned surface on a permanent frame for dedicated home cinemas.
- ALR projector screens: ambient light rejecting screens for rooms with lights or windows, for UST and long-throw projectors.
- Tab tension screens: motorised screens with side tensioning for a flatter picture.
- Insta-lock (manual pull-down) screens: simple, cost-effective screens for offices and schools.
- Tripod screens: portable screens for training, events and presentations.
16:9 or 4:3?
Choose 16:9 for home theatre, movies, sport and most modern projectors. Choose 4:3 for classrooms and presentations where content is mostly slides or documents.
Choosing the size
Measure the wall width and the distance from the seating to the screen. Our projector screen size guide lists the width, height and suggested viewing distance for common sizes in both 16:9 and 4:3.
